HappyCars.com - Superior Auto Service
A Look Back at Our Business

We're no fly-by-night shop. Actually, we started our business in March of 1981 at a Texaco service station on George Bush Dr. in College Station. Dan Waskow and a partner began the business with one goal in mind: give the people in the Bryan/College Station area the best possible automobile service for their money. That goal still stands today.

Later in 1981, Dan hired his first employee - someone to pump gas so he could devote his time to car repair. Of course, other employees would be added in the future. The first technician - referred to as a mechanic back then - was hired in September 1982.
Not long after that, Dan and his partner returned the gasoline business to Texaco and went into car repair/service on a full-time basis. Thus was born Superior Auto Service. The repair business drew many customers forcing Superior Auto Service to expand and relocated to its current facility.

On January 2, 1983, the doors of Superior Auto Service officially opened at its new location. At that time, the Superior Auto Service team consisted of Dan, his partner and one other technician. The demand for their service continued to rise. Top-notch technicians in an independent shop proved to be a winning combination.

New equipment was added: lifts and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. More new customers required more staff. The Superior Auto Service family continued to grow. In 1986,Tom Burch joined the team.

Two years later in March of 1988, Dan bought out his partner and became the sole owner of Superior Auto Service. The business has become well known for its service excellence because Dan and his staff have gone to great lengths to keep abreast of the ever-changing auto industry. They have attended numerous clinics and schools.

In 1997, Dan once again expanded the business to bring computerized four-wheel alignments and tire service to his customers. He bought the old Mrs. Baird's bread warehouse, which was on the corner of South College Avenue and Royal Street, and refurbished and equipped it with a computerized state-of-the-art alignment system. Superior Auto Service also got a new address at that time: 3701 South College Avenue.

A lot has changed since 1981, but one thing remains constant. Dan Waskow and his staff still believe in giving their customers the best possible service for their money - Superior Service!
